Vehicle Requirements

  • Surfaces easily cleanable
  • Cannot transport other types of waste in same vehicle
  • DOT #, Address, Phone no., Biohazard symbol signage
  • Must be delivered to waste facility within 4 hours of loading on truck
  • ADEM Permit No. decal, name and address, biohazard universal symbol signage on truck
Manifest Requirements

  • Contains permit number, hauler name, hauler address, and disposal facility information
  • Lists number of boxes, serial number, and weights, dates removed from generator site and date delivered to disposal site
  • Signed by hauler and disposal facility
  • Records kept for 3 years
Storage Requirements

  • Air conditioned to 45 degrees F if stored more than 7 days, unless the generator generates less than 220 lbs of waste per month
  • Area must be secured from unauthorized personnel (sufficient if warehouse is kept locked at all times)
  • Area must be kept clean and free of rodents and insects
  • Biohazard caution symbol must be placed near storage space
