Congratulations to our 2014 K-9 Contest Winners!
Congratulations to the K9 members of the Essex County Sheriff’s Department and the Kane County Sheriff’s Office for winning Aftermath’s 2014 K-9 Contest! Aftermath donated $5,000 to each department for the purchase and/or training of a police dog/K-9.
About the Annual Aftermath K-9 Police Dog Drawing
A nationwide biohazard remediation and trauma cleanup company, Aftermath is proud to partner with local police and law enforcement officers across the country, whose tireless efforts we encounter every day. As a crime scene clean up company, we understand the demands they experience, so we are always on the lookout for ways to make their lives a little bit easier.
For law enforcement agencies, the inclusion of a K-9 unit on the force can have a positive impact on productivity, enabling their human partners to work more effectively and efficiently. K-9 partners assist in search and rescue operations, help to locate explosives, and assist in narcotics busts. However, the cost of obtaining an animal can be cost prohibitive, especially for small departments. According to Police One, the purchase and training of a K-9 can run over $10,000. Aftermath’s Annual K-9 Contest helps to offset the cost of purchasing and training a police dog by donating a set sum to the winning department. Past winners have gone on to create successful K-9 programs; meanwhile, Aftermath charts their progress and reports on their development.
