Aftermath Reviews Business in New Jersey

Aftermath Services is a nationwide biohazard company, providing service to families and businesses in small towns and big cities across the US. We pride ourselves on becoming a valued part of the communities we live and work in, and encourage our local technicians to get involved. Occasionally we take time to look closer at the areas that support our business, and the people who help make life easier for our customers. This week, we feature our New Jersey office and staff, and learn more about what it’s like to business in Jersey City and the surrounding areas.

The Garden State

While one of the five smallest states in the US, New Jersey has the highest population density in the nation. This is due mostly to it’s proximity to other large, higher cost cities like New York and Philadelphia. Alone, New Jersey stands it’s ground as a major industrial center, a critical transportation hub, and a tourist destination worthy of it’s nickname, “the Garden State.”

Business-wise, the area is known for the production of chemicals and pharmaceuticals, machinery, and other necessary products, including electronic equipment, printed materials, and canned foods. Agriculture is still a factor here – New Jersey grows over 100 fruits and vegetables, including cranberries, apples, and blueberries. There are several oil refineries located in the state as well. The long industrial history of New Jersey has left the state with the largest number of U.S. Superfund sites, and industrial cleanup is an important issue in most of its major metropolitan areas.

Technology is still a growing industry in the state, but it’s seen some downturn in recent years. New Jersey has been slow to recover from the recession. This year, the state ranked 36th in over all job growth. Some business experts feel the economic shakeup is partly due to the 20- and 30-year-old millennials moving from its suburbs into the nearby major cities. The situation is dire enough that the state is calling on schools to offer incentives to students who elect to remain in the area with their new skills. New Jersey’s reputation as a “suburb” of New York is becoming less and less true, and many feel it’s time that the small state cultivate it’s own economic identity. Economists are calling on New Jersey to adapt to attract more jobs and industries beyond the usual 9-5 work day.

A Place Called Home

With all these struggles, New Jersey is still a place many people and businesses call home. The Aftermath New Jersey Office is located just outside Jersey City, placing it in an area that is convenient to many major cities and towns. The New Jersey team is headed up by Aftermath Supervisor Randy Thompson. You can read more about Randy in this interview from last year. In addition to New Jersey, Randy and his fellow technicians also assist families in areas of New York and Pennsylvania, as well as providing support to other offices as needed along the east coast.

So if you live or work in New Jersey, remember that Aftermath Services is available to help. While we hope you never have need of a service like ours, isn’t it better knowing that you have professionals available to handle any sort of challenging biohazard cleanup?
