Join Aftermath for National Random Acts of Kindness Day

Observed on February 17th, National Random Acts of Kindness Day has gained in popularity each year.  Since 1995, individuals, groups, and organizations nationwide have teamed up to impart joy and gratitude into life’s tiniest moments. As part of the celebration, Aftermath aims to encourage a culture of kindness among our employees and partners year round. Every day, we encounter families who are struggling with loss, grief, and other complicated emotions. Many of our supervisors and technicians consider themselves part of a support network rather than a cleanup service. Beyond offering quality biohazard cleaning, they often lend clients an ear or a shoulder to cry on. Their compassion and dedication is part of what sets Aftermath apart from providers of similar services.

So why practice kindness?

The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation (RAK) is an internationally recognized non-profit organization founded on the basic principal of human kindness. The group is dedicated to providing resources and tools that encourage individuals to think with their hearts.

According to the Kindness Foundation, “kindness transcends barriers of age, circumstance, race, sex, religion, culture and politics and speaks to our common bond…Part of what distinguishes us as humans is our natural capacity for compassion and ability to be kind to one another. Kindness is not just about being pleasant or “nice” to those we agree with or prefer to be with. It goes much deeper and is about reaching out and recognizing that we are all human and that each of us has a talent, circumstance, desire, dream, a low, a high, a bad day, a weak moment, a gift, something to offer that is unique to each one of us… and no one is immune to life, its hazards and its gifts.”

To encourage more people to get involved, this year RAK created a Random Act of Kindness Generator. It features fun and simple (and free!) suggestions about how to make the world a tiny bit nicer. Sign up for a free account and you can add your own acts to the tallies on their website. In addition, their Kind Blog is a year-round resource for articles and ideas on the topics of kindness and appreciation. There are also media kits available, if you are looking to get your group or neighborhood involved.

Year Round Kindness from Aftermath Services

Random Acts of Kindness Day only comes once a year. However, Aftermath believes that kindness shouldn’t happen just once a year. As a result, we’re constantly giving back to the communities where we live and work. From our annual events like the  Collegiate Scholarship and the K9 Competition for law enforcement, to charitable donations, sponsorships, and employee events, we’re cultivating a continual spirit of giving. Look for new events on social media, and stay tuned as we announce our Spring PPE Giveaway for law enforcement in just a few short weeks!

And of course, if you are ever in need of biohazard cleaning, please contact us at 877-686-3205. Rapid response technicians are available 24/7 to provide you the best care possible, nationwide.
