Aftermath Attends Fall Conferences in Florida, Illinois

Convention season is coming to an end and the holidays are nearly upon us. With Thanksgiving only a week away, we wanted to take a moment to share our gratitude and catch up on a few of the faces that we’ve had the chance to meet in the past few weeks. Check out a just a few of the highlights we’ve captured in October and November:

FLORIDA: FDIAI Annual Conference

Winner of the 5.11 Tactical bag at FDIAI 2018, Kayla WrightWe closed out the month of October with a visit to sunny Florida for the Florida Division of the International Association for Identification Annual Conference. Aftermath’s Rodney Tower greeted attendees at the company’s booth; visitors included Crime Scene Investigators, technicians, latent print examiners, and detectives. Guests enjoyed a welcome reception on the first night and celebrated Halloween with a costume contest later that week. Daytime events featured professional training seminars, speakers, and the exhibit hall.

At the vendor show, Aftermath gave away marketing materials and held a drawing for a 5.11 tactical bag. The winners were Kayla Wright and Lee Ann Whitney (both pictured).

FDIAI 2018 Lee Ann Whitney, winner of a 5.11 Tactical bagAftermath was the only bio-hazard company present at the FDIAI Conference; attendees were appreciative of the information we shared about our services. Some members even shared stories about situations where they wished they’d been able to refer a family to a cleanup company.

Illinois: FDSA Annual Trade Show

Mark Reinert of Wenban Funeral Home won a $50 gift cardThe following week, the Funeral Directors Service Association of Greater Chicagoland held their annual trade show and Aftermath’s Ben Dirks was in attendance to share information about biohazard cleaning. The conference uses a seminar format; all of the attendees are directors seeking continuing education hours. As the conference is free and convenient to many in the Chicagoland area, it is always well-attended.

Ben was happy to report that many directors said Aftermath was the only biohazard cleaning company they trusted enough to refer families to. In addition to sharing information and marketing materials, some attendees left the Aftermath booth with Giant Microbes and other giveaways; Mark Reinert of Wenban Funeral Home in Lake Forest, IL was our drawing winner – he took home a $50 American Express gift card. Thank you to all the directors and members of the FDSA for making this conference a yearly success!

Happy Trails and Tails

Now that we’ve shared a few stories about our recent travels, we wish to remind you to keep watching our blog for updates and interviews with this year’s K9 Grant winners. We’ll also be sharing photos from our visit to the COVA Convention in Colorado, where we had a chance to meet the many volunteers and professionals who work in victims services.

It has been a pleasure and a privilege to meet so many of the professionals who work tirelessly to assist our friends, neighbors, and communities. From the members of law enforcement who protect us, to the directors who provide support in times of grief, we are ever thankful for the opportunities we have to get to know you. We look forward to meeting even more of you next year!
