Full Grant Rules
Ten, $500 Individual Grant Checks totaling $5,000 will be awarded to victim advocates and/or chaplains for use toward supporting any victim advocacy and/or chaplaincy initiative.
SPONSOR: AFTERMATH SERVICES LLC, 75 EXECUTIVE DRIVE, SUITE 200, AURORA, IL 60504
(“Sponsor”). The Sponsor can also be contacted by PHONE at (877) 872-4339; FAX at (630) 748-2224; or EMAIL at whyweserve@aftermath.com. Any information that you provide to the Sponsor grants the Sponsor a non-revocable, transferable right to use the information by the Sponsor or the Sponsor’s heirs or assigns. The contact information you supply will only be used by Sponsor, its heirs or assigns for internal promos and to send you newsletters, updates, announcements and for any direct or indirect purpose related to this grant. By submitting a grant application, you hereby agree to Sponsor’s collection and usage of your personal information and acknowledge that you have and accepted Sponsor’s privacy policy.
GRANT: The grant is a $500 check, and there will be 10 grants awarded for a total of $5,000 awarded in grants. Grant can be used toward supporting any victim advocacy and/or chaplaincy initiative. Grants will be awarded based on the quality, relevance, and impact of submitted online applications subject to these Grant terms and conditions.
ODDS: Odds of winning the individual grants depend on the total number of eligible applications received during the application period.
GRANT CONDITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS:
- To claim the grant, winners will be required to provide sponsor with: a valid email address, contact phone number, and mailing address where the grant can be shipped to and signed for upon shipping receipt.
- Grant is not transferable and no substitution is allowed except at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Winner is responsible for any loss of or damage to the grant check upon delivery. Sponsor will not replace lost, stolen, or damaged grant check.
ELIGIBILITY: The grants are open to active victim advocates or chaplains in the United States. The grants will be awarded to ten individuals based on merits of the submitted grant applications. Employees, officers, and directors of Sponsor and any of its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, representatives, consultants, contractors, legal counsel, and advertising, public relations, promotional, marketing agencies, website providers, and members of their immediate families and those living within the same household are not eligible to win a grant. Participation constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and to Sponsor’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the grant. Winning a grant is contingent on fulfilling all requirements set forth herein. Sponsor reserves the right to verify the eligibility of the winner.
GRANT TERMS: The Grant entry period begins at 12:00am CST on August 1, 2022 and ends at 11:59pm CST on August 21, 2022 (the “Grant Term”). Applications may be submitted in the form of: written essay (no more than 250 words), video essay (no more than 5 minutes), or photo essay (no more than 25 photos). All applications will be reviewed from August 22, 2022 to August 24, 2022, with winners announced on sponsor’s website on August 26, 2022. Winners will be notified in writing via email, along with a follow-up phone call. If no response is made by winner via email or phone call by September 9, 2022, winner forfeits the grant and an alternate winner will be chosen.

APPLICATION SELECTION: Winners will be chosen three (3) days after the end of the Grant Term and the winning applicants will be contacted within five (5) days after the end of the Grant Term via U.S. email or telephone. Sponsor’s decisions are final and legally binding on all matters relating to the Grant. Sponsor reserves the right to modify scheduling of the Grant without prior notice.
WINNER CONTACT AND VERIFICATION: Winners will be notified by U.S. mail, email, facsimile or telephone within five (5) days after the end of the Grant Term.
If no written response is made by winner by September 9, 2022, winner forfeits the grant and an alternate winner will be chosen. No compensation will be given upon grant forfeiture for any reason. Unaccepted grants may be re-awarded at the sole discretion of Sponsor. Sponsor is not responsible for any change of mailing address, email address, and/or telephone number of entrants.
GRANT DELIVERY: Sponsor shall send the winners the grants within 120 days of representing the winners have won the Grant and the winners providing Sponsor with valid shipping addresses.
GRANT USAGE AND FOLLOW-UP: Except where prohibited by law, by accepting the grant, the winners grant Aftermath an irrevocable, perpetual, non-assignable, royalty-free license to use their name, voice and/or likeness in any and all media, worldwide, for the purpose of advertising and promoting the Website, Aftermath, the Making Everyday Heroes More Heroic Grant, or any other promotion, contest or sweepstakes sponsored by Aftermath. Winners must allow the Sponsor to follow-up on usage of the grant on a quarterly basis. Sponsor will also be allowed to interview and film the winners for promotion of the Grant.

GENERAL CONDITIONS: This Grant is governed by the laws of the United States. Void outside of the United States and where prohibited by law. If, for any reason, the Making Everyday Heroes More Heroic Grant is not capable of running as planned, including due to tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, transmission or computer error, computer viruses, bugs, or any other causes beyond the control of Sponsor which corrupt or affect the operation, administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this grant, Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, void any suspect entries and: (a) cancel or terminate the grant (or any portion thereof); (b) modify the grant or suspend the grant to address the impairment and then resume the grant in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules; and /or award the grant from among the eligible, non-suspect entries received up to the time of impairment.
WARNING: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE GRANT OR ANY WEBSITE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS GRANT MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAW, AND, SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO PROSECUTE AND SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. Neither Sponsor nor anyone acting on its behalf will enter into any communications with any entrant regarding this Grant, except as expressly set forth in these Official Rules. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be attempting to tamper with or undermine the entry process, and/or the legitimate operation of the Grant; to violate the Official Rules; or to act in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner or with the intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other person. Use of automated entries or programs or entries submitted by third parties are prohibited and will be disqualified. Any attempt by any participant to obtain more than the permitted number of entries by using multiple and/or different identities, forms, registrations, addresses or any other method will void all of that participant’s entries and that participant may be disqualified at Sponsor’s discretion. Entrants agree that Sponsor shall own the entries, which even if void shall not be acknowledged or returned.
RELEASE AND LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: BY PARTICIPATING IN THIS GRANT, ENTRANTS AGREE THAT SPONSOR AND ITS AFFILIATES, SUBSIDIARIES, REPRESENTATIVES, CONSULTANTS, CONTRACTORS, LEGAL COUNSEL, ADVERTISING, PUBLICATIONS, AND PROMOTIONAL FULFILLMENT AND MARKETING AGENCIES, AND THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES, AND AGENTS (COLLECTIVELY, THE “RELEASED PARTIES”) WILL HAVE NO LIABILITY OR RESPONSIBILITY WHATSOEVER FOR, AND SHALL BE HELD HARMLESS BY ENTRANTS AGAINST, ANY LIABILITY FOR ANY INJURIES, LOSSES OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND (INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES) TO PERSONS (INCLUDING PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH) OR PROPERTY RESULTING IN WHOLE OR IN PART, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, FROM ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, MISUSE, OR USE OF A GRANT, ENTRY, OR PARTICIPATION IN THIS GRANT INCLUDING COMPUTER MALFUNCTIONS, OR MISDIRECTED OR INCOMPLETE ENTRIES OR IN ANY GRANT RELATED ACTIVITY, OR ANY CLAIMS BASED ON PUBLICITY RIGHTS, DEFAMATION OR INVASION OF PRIVACY, OR MERCHANDISE DELIVERY. THE RELEASED PARTIES ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE IF ANY GRANT CANNOT BE AWARDED DUE TO DELAYS OR INTERRUPTIONS RESULTING FROM ACTS OF GOD, ACTS OF WAR, NATURAL DISASTERS, WEATHER, OR TERRORISM. BY PARTICIPATING IN THIS GRANT, PARTICIPANTS AGREE THAT THE RELEASED PARTIES WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY INJURIES, DAMAGES, OR LOSSES OF ANY KIND (INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES) TO PERSONS. WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, AND EXCEPT WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW, EVERYTHING REGARDING THIS GRANT, INCLUDING GRANTS, ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. SOME JURISDICTIONS MAY NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY. CHECK LOCAL LAWS FOR ANY RESTRICTIONS OR LIMITATIONS REGARDING THESE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS. PUBLICITY AND ADVERTISING: EXCEPT WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW, WINNER GRANTS TO SPONSOR (WHICH WILL BE CONFIRMED IN WRITING ON REQUEST OF SPONSOR), ITS SUBSIDIARIES, AFFILIATES, DISTRIBUTORS, ADVERTISING AND PROMOTIONAL AGENCIES, SUPPLIERS, AND THOSE ACTING PURSUANT TO ITS AUTHORITY, THE RIGHT AND PERMISSION TO PRINT, PUBLISH, BROADCAST, AND USE, WORLDWIDE IN ANY MEDIA NOW KNOWN OR HEREAFTER DEVELOPED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WORLD WIDE WEB, AT ANY TIME OR TIMES, EACH WINNER’S NAME, PORTRAIT, PICTURE, VOICE, LIKENESS, OPINIONS AND/OR BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION (INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION HOMETOWN AND STATE) FOR ADVERTISING, TRADE, AND PROMOTIONAL PURPOSES (INCLUDING THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF HIS OR HER NAME ON TELEVISION OR RADIO BROADCAST) WITHOUT ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATION, COMPENSATION, PERMISSION, OR NOTIFICATION.
