Aftermath Visits Pennsylvania Funeral Directors

Aftermath Visits PA Funeral Directors for 2018 Convention.

Though many of our blogs are focused on law enforcement, the funeral home industry is one that is equally important to us. Like Aftermath technicians, directors are also “second responders”; they are the experts grieving families turn to when a death occurs, providing specialized services and referring their clients to other trusted businesses when necessary.

As a nationwide death cleanup company, Aftermath works with funeral homes and directors to provide families with caring and compassionate cleaning services. From time to time, we also have an opportunity to visit industry conferences and speak to directors and other death care professionals. Read on to learn more about our most recent visit to the PFDA Convention:

Visiting the PFDA COnvention

In early June, the Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association hosted their yearly meeting at the Kalahari Resort in Poconos Manor, PA. Aftermath’s Funeral Home and Fire/EM Specialist Ben Dirks was available to speak with directors about the importance of professional biohazard cleanup.

Although PFDA is a rather large show for the east coast, most directors are focused on training classes, guest speakers, and renewing their licenses with educational hours offered at the event.  However, Aftermath made a few good contacts and had the opportunity to introduce new directors to the company’s mission. Some attendees were unaware that companies like Aftermath existed, while others had not only heard the Aftermath name, but had positive feedback about their own experiences.

While at the conference, Ben hosted a drawing for a $50 American Express gift card. The winner was Bill Harris (pictured with Ben), Owner of Harris Funeral Home in Johnstown, PA. Mr. Harris received his funeral directors license in 1972 and founded Harris Funeral Home in 1980. Congratulations, Mr. Harris and thank you to all those who stopped by the booth!
