What is the K9 Grant?
The Aftermath K9 Grant was founded to showcase, support, and reward the unique contributions made by K9 units across the country and, indirectly, to recognize and support the communities that we both serve. The month-long contest awards $16,500 in grants to new or established K9 programs for maintenance, safety equipment, or officer training. Officers and community members nominate and vote for local departments; the departments with the most votes receive one of eight grants.
When can I enter?
The 2018 K9 Grant launches on October 1. You must nominate your department to partake in the voting period. Nominations run through October 16th. Popular voting will begin on October 18th and conclude on November 2nd. Anyone in the community can vote to support their favorite K9 unit! Individuals may vote ONCE every 12 hours online and ONCE on Instagram (follow @AftermathK9Grant for instructions). Please vote responsibly.
Who can enter?
Any K9 unit in the US is eligible for nomination. Everyone, from officers to community members to local businesses, can nominate their local department. Anyone can vote once per day for their favorite K9 unit. We encourage everyone to get involved!
How can I enter?
Head over to the 2018 K9 Grant page to nominate your department from October 1st to October 16th. They must be nominated in order to participate in the voting period. Popular voting begins on October 18th and conclude on November 2nd.
Votes will be tallied after the voting period ends and the winning K9 units will be announced on November 5, 2018. So be sure to spread the word and come back daily starting October 18th to ensure that your departments wins a grant!
