What is the Aftermath K9 Grant?
The Aftermath K9 Grant was founded to showcase, support, and reward the unique contributions made by K9 units across the country and, indirectly, to recognize and support the communities that we both serve. The month-long contest awards grants, up to $20,000 in total grants, to new or established K9 programs for maintenance, safety equipment, or officer training. Officers and community members nominate and vote for local departments through our website and on Instagram; the departments with the most popular votes receive grants (up to fourteen grants awarded).
When is the grant?
Nominations for the 2019 K9 Grant will begin on October 1, 2019. Here are some dates to remember:
- Nomination Period: 10/1 – 10/18
- Voting Period: 10/23 – 11/3
- Winners Announced: 11/6
Who can apply?
Any K9 unit in the US is eligible for nomination. Everyone, from officers to community members to local businesses, can nominate their local department. The nomination process is easy and takes only a minute. Then, when the community voting period begins, simply come back to the official Grant page to vote and support your favorite K9s. We encourage everyone to get involved!
How can I apply?
When the K9 Grant officially opens, a link will be made available to take you to our nomination page. Departments must be nominated and a photo of your K9 or department logo submitted in order to participate in the Grant and in the voting period.
